 Dear Sir,

In reply to your request we are pleased to certify that since April 1999 (almost 2 years) we have been using "rb bertomeu" additives for fuel oil beco Fl/ASF in our Co-generation Plant at San Saturnino, with total satisfaction inasmuch as its use has eliminated the serious corrosion problem that we had had from the beginning of operation. Also, we can express our satisfaction with the Technical Service, regarding the analysis of exhaust gases and inspection of valves of the engines, which has been provided for us.

Our plant is equipped with 4 Deutz MWM Diesel engines, type BV 16M-640, and since we began the additive treatment with “rb bertomeu” beco FI/ASF, we have noted a practical elimination of corrosion in exhaust valves, which was previously frequent and was caused us breakdowns due to blown valves and  high maintenance expenses.  This has allowed us to raise the service factor of the plant and to achieve a greater operation continuity, being able to increase the TBO used in valve inspection from 2,000 to 3,000 hours to 3,000 to 4,000 (and in some instances 5,000) hours.

With the use of the additive beco F1/ASF in the fuel, we also have detected the processes following improvement with respect to prior data in the following aspects:

*       Reduction of fuel oil sludge with respect to the volume that was previously generated in the storage tank as well as in the fuel purifier and filters.

*       Absence of corrosion in the inlet valves of the engines.

*       Absence of corrosion in the turbos.

*       A lower need to clean the fuel  oil circuits and purifiers.

*       Greatly decreased residues in the exhaust valves, turbos, gas collectors, etc., which in reduces cleaning necessities, and raises the service factor of the Plant.

*       Elimination of black smoke due to incorrect combustion and a reduction of CO, which means a reduction of pollution and fuel consumption.

*       Decrease of the fuel consumption per kWhe produced (hardly appreciable but improved considerably by the loss in sludge).

We authorise the use of this letter for reference purposes.
